Pulling the sleeve releases the socket from the plug and frees the steel ball in the socket. The sleeve that has been pulled is held in place and does not need to be pulled again for insertion. The main advantage is that it can be inserted at any angle and automatically joins with the steering wheel (socket) when the angle of the steering wheel (socket) and the steering shaft (plug) are aligned, eliminating the annoyance of the pre-RAPFIX quick release, which requires the shaft to be precisely aligned. Steel balls have been significantly reduced in size. Because the steel ball always maintains pressure on the plug, the unique technology eliminates rattling and ensures secure steering force transmission. This rattle-free and the smooth connection remains effective even after some wear and tear on the product, which contributes significantly to the driver's severe steering wheel operation. RAPFIX Racing also employs a new "Cam Lock" mechanism to ensure that the plug and socket are fully bonded and that radial loads are locked in place for absolute racetrack reliability. This, along with the ball lock, ensures safety.
